Yeah. Quite a bit of Northern Rock panic in the UK. I have friends who have tried to access their website for the last 48 hours without any luck.
The slightly bearish posters (especially on the XJO thread) get a lot of grief from the out-and-out bulls. But weighing up their arguments, and a lot else, I cleared out every penny I had with Northern Rock about 6 weeks ago. Then mailed all my mates in the UK, and said to be careful. None took any action and thought I was crazy. As of the last few nights, I know who's sleeping easier. I'm turning over government treasuries on a monthly basis, getting quite a few basis points less than with NR, but a hell of a lot more safety.
