The bottom line for me -- we will need very fast Internet in 2030, 2040, 2050, 2060. Because Fibre can deliver data at an extremely fast rate, it would have been a suitable technology for many decades to come. Instead, we have thrown billions down the drain on FTTN. A colossal waste of money -- and WHY?

I guess as Telstra shareholders, we should be glad that Abbott and Turnbull are incompetent. It will probably mean a ton of profit for the company in 2020 when people realise they need much greater speeds than what FTTN can deliver.

Also, I think Ghurka needs to read more on how these technologies differ. A FTTP network would be building infrastructure for decades into the future. FTTN is a short-term technology that is already on the verge of being obsolete. We spent how much on an obsolete technology again? $50 BILLION PLUS? How could any rational person support what Turnbull has done.
