Well then keep fighting the good fight - because unless management picked up a copy of Communication Skills for Dummies - people should be thanking you and others, not sticking the boots in.
IMO they were forced to change because their BS wasn't cutting it anymore - but at least they have done really well this time and people can make their own decisions moving forward rather than just guessing the timelines.
