CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
Work undertaken in the Group during the reporting period identified isolated and limited occurrences of economic bauxite mineralisation. The limited drilling has allowed the testing of the bauxite potential of numerous potential target areas in the Group. Only state forest areas (encroaching E70/3575 & E70/3622) and two private properties have been drilled. Assay results have shown that out of the 596 holes drilled, 322 had a total alumina content of over 25%. However, of these, only 15 provided available Alumina concentrations of 25% or more. The
drilling completed provides a restricted representation of the group as less than 1% of the area has been accessible to the drill traverses on pre-existing roads. However, this scout drilling has confirmed the assessment by Hickman et al. (1992) that the laterites in this area tend to be siliceous rather than aluminous and feasible economic mineralization is unlikely to be found. Limited target areas will be further assessed within the next reporting period and will be studied when land access allows direct observation to be made.
