Our Strengths:
-vast mineral, coal & coalseam gas
-the Great barrier reef & the coastal strip for tourism
-agricultural products
Weaknesses:
-underpopulated large state with most of it wilderness
-enormous network of roads& railway, electricity & comminications networks to maintain
-long distance from the large Sydney & Melbourne consumer markets.
Opportunities;
-opportunity to develop & derive more State revenue from our resources and add value to our metal's exports
-Develop sister city/region relationships with China & actively package incomming Chinese tourist holiday packages
-support adding value to our Ag exports and encourage food processing at the farm like NZ.
Threats:
-that Chinese will buy up our ag , mining and energy resources and then pay no tax here.
-that automation & the gig economy (imported) will produce mass unemployment in the long term
-that neo-Liberal Commonwealth economic policies will reduce Commonwealth financing of health & education.
Perhaps others could offer their SWOT analysis of Queensland and suggest long term economic strategies to
keep Queensland ahead of the mob.
