Xav - I take the view that the so-called hostile shareholder group was the opposite of what's usually meant by hostile in securities parlance.
They wanted to do everything to prevent the company falling to a lowball takeover. At the time that was surely a risk.
Showing the 20% holding was a way of signalling to genuinely hostile parties that there'd be an almighty fight to get control of PLS out of Ken's hands.
So thanks to those others who used their equity to publicly guard this great australian story - still in the making.
