G'day OMG. It's been some years since we chatted on PEK. Thanks for the reminder!!.

Peak Resources, for the unknowing, was (still is) a rare earths explorer in Tanzania. There was a lot of excitement and hype about its prospects back then - Lynas was the shining star at the time. I came in all starry-eyed after getting a tip and then reading the glowing posts. I wouldn't say that I was conned (maybe a couple of posters were not genuine though) but I got caught up in the promotion and became part of it in fact. I was genuine in my belief. I stayed a couple of years and then sold out with a massive loss. I didn't do my homework before buying serious amounts. I regret that of course. I learnt a valuable lesson.

What's happening here with EUC and other stocks that are being seriously promoted is that newbies can get sucked in without knowing as much as they should about the company and its prospects. With PEK it was rare earths that excited the punters. It was the lithium and cobalt of that time. PEK drew new people in because of the hype about RE. EUC is doing the same with cobalt.

That said, cobalt is simpler than RE - or so it would seem. RE has serious metallurgical issues that need sorting out, then there is the Chinese dominance, production, contamination etc etc. It's a very rough and rocky road. I wouldn't get excited about exploring for it, as per a recent post here I think.

Another stock that I really believed in was TNG. I was conned there though by a particular poster named Kirribilli. K was throwing numbers around that super-impressed. K was supported by another poster, started with Z I think, and between them they made TNG look magnificent; so I bought more. I believed them. Then K and Z disappeared from the scene. What happened to them? especially K, I thought. Some time later I learnt that K had be struck off the HC register for having more than 1 nic (could have been more than that, dunno). Z was one of those nics imo. I learnt another valuable lesson there. I'm sure that this sort of thing still goes on. I'm very watchful now, and so should you and everyone on HC.
