Matt 16:27-28 – For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he (Greek) will give to each accordingto the deeds of him.
Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels >(Just as the above and not at the end of the events describe in those “other” passages and other events).
9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
The bolded sections here are obviously those that need addressing/answering.
As with ALL Bible passages, we cannot take verses in isolation and determine their meaning or the whole message as we have to take the surrounding passages, subjects into account and many other aspects/meanings of the Bible as a whole so we can achieve the whole truth and not just part thereof.
OR, as the Bible pretty much says, scripture and not man interprets the Bible.
In the two verses above and considering the lead in subject as well, there are what we will call, “many” branches/subjects that one needs to be aware of, to enable one to receive the intended message by Jesus.
One of the Key ones and this applies to many if not all of the messages Jesus gave and that is, they are messages in the Spiritual context and not the fleshly, the human mindset.
1 John 2:16-17 – For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. Not tasting death.
Ashamed of Jesus and “His” word (which were his Fathers)
John 5:51-52 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying (words), he shall never see death. Verse 52 says never taste death = See and tasting death = the same thing.
Heb 2:9 Tells us, Jesus tasted death for every man.
Kingdom close at hand;
Matt 3:1-2 – (Just a brief) John preaching in the wilderness and stating the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This message is repeated over and over in the NT, it is near as in imminent, any time now.
Whereas – All the events and goings on in the likes of Matt 24 (Parable, this generation will not pass) are in no way described as being imminent/very close and the reason for that being is – It is a totally different event and they are further in the future.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
In verse 3:5 Jesus says, you must be born of water and Spirit.
1 Peter 1:23 - Being born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
John 6:63 – It is the Spirit that quickeneth (make alive); the flesh profiteth nothing: the words I speak (The God & Fathers) unto you, are Spirit and are life.
Isa 55:10-11 And in brief tells us – As the rain comes down to water the earth, so shall his word be.
John 4:24 Part thereof – God is a Spirit;
Eph 2:18 – Tells us, there is but One Spirit that we all come to the Father.
1 Cor 12 In brief tells us, there are many Spiritual gifts, but the same (one) Spirit 12:4 and 12:6 There are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
So, what this shows us here, the water, the Spirit, the Word of God, Seed and God are one in the same or from The One and we know there is but One God.
Mark 4:30-31 – In brief – The kingdom of God is like a grain of mustard seed - Going by the above, The kingdom of God = God/Spirit/Word/Seed/Water/Life.
Luke 17:20-21 – Part thereof – The kingdom of God commeth not with observation (eyes/see literally). 21. Neither shall they say, Lo here! Or lo there! (Because) For behold, the kingdom
of God is within you.
Luke 22:16 (Before the cross, Jesus said) For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Luke 24:41 (After the cross) And while they believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat.
Hmmmm, Behold,,,,, is appears like something has been fulfilled or close!!!
And Jesus before going to the cross re – The Comforter;
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me (includes believing the Fathers words/Seed that he brought, Spirit/Word/Life of the Father), the works that I do shall he do also; and greater than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:16-20 – And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.
The Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him (God) not, neither knoweth him; but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and “shall” be in you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (Jesus comes through this One Spirit of the Fathers).
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me, because I live, ye shall live also.
At that day ye shall know that I'm in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Luke 24:49 – And Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: for tary ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endured “with” power from on high. (God, Power of). Note: The Greek actually has it written as such and more appropriate;
Until they are clothed with power. There are several Bible verses showing that this clothing is in fact – The Word of God – God = Spirit/Word/Life which are One as God is one.
Acts 2:1-13 Pentecost. Certainly, the kingdom of God has come with power, some were filled with the Holy Spirit (Spirit of truth Comforter) and they spoke as the Spirit gave them – Confirming Spirit and The Word are one or go hand in hand.
Acts 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip………………
And just to confirmed a little more of the promise Jesus made about seeing him;
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth (poured out) this, which ye now see and hear. (Hence, I mentioned above, most of Jesus’s messages are Spiritual).
So, as the initial verse said, “some” standing here, because not necessary all would receive or abide in the word of God which Jesus gave.
There are a range of Gifts people receive and in this case, it was according to their deeds and whether they believed and abided in The Word and obviously dependant on the role/job God and Jesus wanted them to do.
Some went off and were healing by the power of God.
The other area you keep mentioning, (different events/subject,) included actual judgement of everyone and this section has nothing of a sort, as it does not, with the other events mentioned.
As I keep going on about often – “everything” centers around “The Word/Spirit” = The honey Pot or all roads lead to Rome so to speak.
So will this particular contradiction God be having a Burial or a Cremation???
