I too am a 20 something year old uni student and i cant tell you how many older generation people have told me how "they wished they started when i was your age" if we play our cards right and keep a level head, we will be able to eat avocado and buy a house at the same time! Lucky us.

As it stands i have just over 100 000 units and WHEN we get a proper re-rate off the monster- paying of HECS debt and putting money aside for a house deposit will be on my list- thus thankfully excelling me financially above the majority of my peers... as it will be the same for you!

Like you said, we all gotta start somewhere.
