I used REA as an example to a Facebook group that I was a member of for what can happen when you buy and hold a good company. I noted that REA at it's lowest point in 2001 it went down 8c and at the time of writing was at $74. In the example $5000 was used as the investment and would have generated $4.62m over 16 years of holding.

This is a standard Warren Buffett type investment strategy. Proving that you do not require a lot of capital to become wealthy in the sharemarket. My comments were mostly met by a lot of pessimistic comments.

In the end I don't mind if they do not see the opportunity. I'm going to be following that exact strategy with my investment in BIG. With the growth rate of the BIG share price I'm thinking that I won't need to wait 16 years either.
