I think that the views that 'Bitcoin has nothing to do with Blockchain' needs a little qualification. If the word, '...... directly has nothing to do.....' would be more accurate.
Indirectly, the rise (and fall) of crypto currencies effect blockchain as it is the technology that crypto uses, so the digital currency's success endorses the technology. But the good thing is, even if crypto were to collapse, blockchain would most likely continue, even if after a battering.
Association is a valid segment of argument. It's also part of a common fallacy too.
