    I agree, Doubledee, there have been a lot of mindless postings on this topic. I guess people want to comment about something that has impacted on them greatly. Yes, other people have died, are dying and will continue to die from this poison but when it happens to someone you feel you know so well (i.e. a celebrity) that it impacts more.

    Anyhow, I really believe it's time the AFL throw out its "3 strikes and you're out" policy. In a sense, like airline pilots, elite sportspeople do have the lives of others in their hands--their young and impressionable fans. And pilots are sacked after failing one test.

    Hope the coroner digs deep into what happened in Mainwaring's life leading up to his death but I hope for the AFL's sake that it wasn't a case of the AFL having tested Mainwaring in the past, found evidence of drug-taking, and then chosen to wait for more "strikes" before doing something about it.
