Let me complete Travels extract from MSB Annual report (which he conveniently decided to leave out ) as follows:
… “ Accordingly impairment losses for the full carrying amounts of the intangible assets relating to product candidates MPC-MICRO-IO and MPC-CBE were recognized in line with the Group’s accounting policy. These product candidates will remain technically viable and available to consider for future resource allocation and on this basis we have not abandoned the programs” …
So here we have a situation where MSB is in FULL COMPLIANCE of the accounting standards ..PWC have signed off - but this is not good enough for some.
3-4 years back I was at an AGM and had the pleasure of speaking to Professor Paul J Simmons Phd (current exec VP Corporate research & Product Developt ; one of the founders of the MPC technology at the Adelaide Uni and formerly overseeing the MPC P2 trials in Cord Blood @ M.D Anderson Cancer Centre ..until he was approached by SI to come and work in-house at Meso).
I still have his card.
IF you are interested , I encourage you to call Professor Simmons and speak to him about what he witnessed during his time at M.D Anderson and the amazing excitement and hope that the clinicians experienced during the P2 Cord Blood trials, Headed by Elizabeth J Shpall MD (the principal investigator at M.D Anderson Cancer centre). The impact (and hope) that the MPC treatments provided to very sick patients , was something that he was very proud off and MD Anderson centre was quote " a buzz with ". It would be be worth giving him a call.
