With out ranting - WHAT THE HELL has asylum seekers destroying documents got to do with the over the top costs of $10 mil to repair a couple of prefab buildings, or the cost of between $415 and $627 a day to detain them - not process their claims just detain them.
But you ask why would they destroy their documents if they are legitimate - it appears you are implying they are not legitimate.
They have been proven to be legitimate so who gives a sh!t why they destroyed their documents
Yes their claims may have been processed quicker if they had documents BUT IT WOULD STILL HAVE COST AN OVER THE TOP COST AROUND $500.00 A DAY TO DETAIN THEM WILL BEING PROCESSED.
And Yes with documents their claims would be processed quicker but asylum seekers destroying documents is not something that can be controled - what can be controled is over the top costs in operating detention centres and slack azz government departments stuffing around in processing claims
