Sorry, not sure on your question, but hope this is the information you're after.
A rise in share price is based off the basic economics idea of supply vs demand.
When demand (buy) is higher than the supply (sell) the price generally goes up.
The market decides where the open should be. In todays case. the sellers have decided their shares are worth more than yesterday. This all falls down to sentiment and human nature. (usually irrational human nature)
