RFF shot themselves in the foot early on. There was a cap raising in 2015 where the management encouraged retail holders to go in for extra shares in case the offer was undersubscribed. Turns out the offer was (a) undersubscribed and (b) none of the retail investors that wanted extra shares actually got any, with RFF's board/management - in their *cough* wisdom - deciding to let the underwriter scoop up all the leftover shares without giving any to the little guys who stumped up cash to take them.
That would explain why longer term RFF holders are probably put off.
I actually sold out of RFF because I was so pissed off by their actions. Yeah, the share price has gone up by nearly a dollar since I sold, but I regret nothing. Although had I been allowed to take all the shares I paid for at the time, I'd probably be one of RFF's biggest cheerleaders now. Ah well.
