I recently took out a RAMS 85% lo-doc. No dodgey credit rating here. Was attracted to their deal which was a variable interest rate of 8.17% not much above bank lo-doc rates at 80% lvr. I have other loans...with Westpac and CBA.

That rate has now changed...I assume to 8.67%. The advantage of using RAMS over bank lo-doc products has now virtually dissappeared and early repayment penalties-defferred establishment fees of up to 4% will apply if I refinance/discharge in the first 4 years.

Better to now go the straight 80% lbank o-doc and not worry about keeping 5% of the deposit for other uses.
