The germans in the 1800's to 1945 used hemp to dry out marshy and swampy land, that slowly dried out and was then used for further agricultural use.....

The sailing ships, sails were hemp, the ropes, sometimes the lantern oils, hemp oil was also used to help prevent scurvie on board ships....when limes and lemons were not in available use... or had run out.....

You can use it as cooking oil , as a lubricant, also good for some sores and wounds on the skin surface.... a very healthy replacement for butter and marg....
