unmarketable parcel of shares

...I have a small holding of 20k shares in a company (lets call it XYZ)...after a share consolidation of 1 for 6, my parcel of shares will become 3,333 shares ,the 'marketable' parcel of shares after consolidation is 10k ...thus my parcel will be deemed 'unmarketable' I guess...can someone please explain the ramifications of this ?
