Rabbitoh the backstory to the Crusades is different and complex - yes the propaganda was to take back Jerusalem to collect Europe's rabble, turn them into an assault army on Jerusalem, and incidentally promise them heaven as a result of their endeavours - don't know of virgins were involved - sound familiar? I tried to find anything on the flag story, knowing Swedes here and how proud they are of their story and country - and are actually not integrating all that well, but because they are nordic and look much the same as the rest, it doesn't seem to matter all that much.
