Lower operating costs, greater torque and the potential for partial to full automation in due time will be more than tempting. The ability to have individual rigs to form a road train and detach when not possible will see significant savings with some mentioning that doing so will see operating costs lower than rail.

You may not like it because it will mean your rig may no longer be competitive due to higher costs, but evolution doesn't stop because some don't like it.
