MikePike, I am pretty sure this peak in 06 on thin vol was due to an announcement of the first share placement at 4c when Mark Smythe took over. You only needed to be on the register (no minimum) to participate in the 4c placement. Thus the many very small trades pushed the price up which subsequently collapsed when the placement was completed, although it never went below 4 I don't think. Once on the register, you could apply for as many shares as you liked at 4c with a free 8c option attached. The option expired in May this year.
I know this because I was one of those scrambling to get on the register to participate in the placement. Have since exercised the options in May this year and have been adding to my position on confirmation of key milestones ever since up until last week.
Will have to wait until next week to watch the story keep unfolding now but have not sold one CVI share since the placement.
