Jim, recently had some quotes done to re-render and paint the outside of my house. Being double storied, a full safety scaffold was required by law around the house at a cost of around ten to fifteen thousand dollars. Total cost for the job was to be sixty thousand plus GST, so up to 25% was a pretty much unnecessary safety cost.
When I built houses we used a ladder and maybe a plank.
There are a million other costs and impositions that were not there in the early days.
How could anyone possibly compare pricing with today's build.
