From what I know CQT would'nt want to do a placement but would prefer to be taken over outright at the right price of course.
As previously stated by Sicily, perhaps Goldfields are manipulating the price and buying shares at the cheap end under different names, therefore building up their stake until they have all their results needed to make a formal takeover? All I can sugest is if you can hold on then hold on, if you have to sell then sell as little as possible and most important if you can buy, buy as many as you can because I believe this stock will move before the end of the year.
A final note for me is that JT will be doing more presentations to Macquaries this week and hopefully the insto's will see the potential in this company and start buying.
