Thank you for your reply Sally.
You said ".........Heron had talked about a possible Nickel Sulphide J/V with Inco but then why not BHP?"...
Why not indeed!
It is a cert that CVRD and BHP will be watching each other's moves very closely - after all they are competitors.
Maybe the Sulphides are the wild card in the pack.?
I realise there is a huge difference in the scale of the two projects KNP and J.U. Dam and its probable that BHP - even tho they are significant shareholders in HRR - would not normally be interested to invest in a JV with JU Dam - but such a JV would position BHP closer to HRR management. In this case the $300M for the H2SO4 plant et al is small bickies for them if it provides an entre' for future sulphides.
I also noted that Buckhorn has said "....we've already got a deal with Inco on the Laterites so, its common sense that Inco will be the Sulphides partner"
Maybe that door is still not closed to BHP?
If the threat of share dilution is removed by such a JV
then the SP should respond accordingly.
On that note - what else could restrain the SP recovering to its former high I wonder.?
