    Jogo, I totally agree with your sentiment that when all is said and done, it’s the drill bit that does the talking. I have worked more than 30 years as an engineer in the offshore petroleum industry and from my own experience could not agree more.

    However, do not forget that The Gambia actuall straddles the river that most likely was the original source of those SNE and FAN hydrocarbons in the first place. For comparison; think the Missisippi, the Amazon, the Pearl River, the Congo, etc, etc where huge petroleum deposits have been found in offshore areas fanning out from their deltas.

    In other words, I would not be the least surprised if the oil reserves of Gambia actually surpasses Senegal’s, with a mirror deposit to SNE further south in GB.

    However, this is my personal take on it only, and yes, the drill bit will have the last word.
