And anyone who has fought and won four federal elections in a row - one with the weight of the (then unpopular) GST policy along with it - HAS to be a fighter - love him - hate him - or blame him for all the ills of the human pysche!!
Funny how we focus all our own personal dissatisfactions with many apsects of our lives all on the one man - or woman.
And then extend this out to blame them for everything. Howard is not responsible for State Government ills, BTW.
With their GST bonananzas, the States should all be functioning perfectly. They're not!
We have a Victorian nurses' strike starting today, and a threatened emergency services strike, as I write.
And State Premiers showing their elector-given tenure little respect - walking out when they please - as did Bracks, after eight months. Not even a warning - family reasons. Why put yourself up for election then??
