If you remember he proved efficacy on many cancers and even better, it greatly increased the efficacy of many currently used chemos. He presented the data to ASCO back then himself. You have to consider back then that there had been no phase 1 safety trial completed at that time and it probably would have been harder to get Coramsine approved for compassionate use in the USA. Now that the Phase 2 was delayed by the TGA for whatewver reason, he has found a way to bring the drug to a patient in dire need. Another factor now that did not exist back when Nagourney tested Coramsine is there is now clinical evidence of a remission of a late stage RCC patient from the phase 1 clinical trial. For SBP to have the opportunity to demonstrate the potency of Coramsine in the USA is a very big thing and it will be noticed.
I would be curious to know if he intends to use it as a single agent or in combination.
Makes you wonder why the head of the premier private cancer hospital on the west coast of the USA still be bothering with Coramsine. My guess is that with his ex-vivo testing methods he knows it works.
My thoughts are with that end stage RCC patient who has just been thrown a life line by the FDA granting the first compassionate approval for the use of Coramsine in the USA.
