While I agree with many of your sentiments about the company and the way they have handled this I think your case here is a bit clutching at straws but ... If the reason for the trading halt is "pending a ... announcement" then the reason for the delay is only that relating to the announcement, i.e.that it can not be made... It should not mean they need to give any details of their funding negotiation, since any details would either be in confidence or they would likely be detrimental to getting a deal.

I for one am pleased they are giving a date, they could have just said something without a date and we would all be waiting not knowing when we would get news, as I remember on another stock I just escaped in time (KCN), although of course it has done much better since, I did not want to be stuck in an indefinite trading halt. While (I think) the trading halt removes the need for continuous disclosure because investors are protected by the trading halt, the AGM is probably different and there should be some news there.

While my curiosity is offended by the lack of information, given the circumstances of the debt renewal I would rather be in a trading halt than at the whim of the market now, and am glad I only need to wait a week at a time. If you are not a holder the halt does not affect you. I really do not see the need to stress out with so much speculation, nothing we can do at the moment can affect our investment, and we have a timeframe to wait each week. It is either sorted out or not. If not sorted out and they do not update the market with more positive production or cash figures then it is a bit of a dead loss. Given the later if it opens it will be such a low price that you will not be much better off being able to trade, compared with hoping a take over or some rescue.

The story is not good, but the most you can lose is all your money and the most you can win is x times that if the dice spin in your favour... There is no 'investing' scenario to discuss in a trading halt for financing like this, it is too late to do any more homework, you are either a winner or a looser.
