This exact comparison has been made before, and I refrained from commenting because I couldn't be bothered, but if it is going to become an ongoing issue:

    1. The 38,000 m does not include drilling pre "discovery" in October 2013, nor any outside of the Gruyere footprint at Dorothy Hills, I.e. YAM 14 etc. If you go back over the Anns in early to mid 2013 you will see they did plenty of RAB and rc rilling over and above that number. I'm not going to bother combing through again, but have a look for yourselves.

    2. You cannot compare these deposit styles. Gruyere is a porphyry hosted deposit with plenty of disseminated gold, so you would expect better grade continuity between and less variation between two points. What that means is that when you build your resource wireframes and run your geostatitstics algorithms to estimate grades at unknown points, you need less data resolution (less drill holes) to be confident with the estimates. That is why on page 7 of that GOR announcement they state that the resource is based on a 100x40 metre drilling grid over 1.8km strike, with only a 100m section having a 12.5x25m grid. It is also partly why explorers covet those styles of deposits. See section 3 of the JORC table in the linked announcement (around pg30) for more discussion about the Gruyere deposit's continuity. BRB, with a sulphide lode/stockwork deposit without much disseminated gold outside the lodes, do not have the same luxury of assuming continuity, hence the need for a 40x20m grid over the 2.2km strike.

    Cheers
