October is famous for being a pretty dreadful month on the markets. Usually this is followed by a xmas rally. Putting aside the remote possibility of something more sinister underlying in the markets I guess the worst we can expect is to take a bit of a beating short term only to get it back and probably more when sentiment turns closer to xmas and as news keeps flowing.
But on the other hand if you sell out and a killer ann. arrives that overrides short term sentiment you wouldn't want to be caught not holding.
