even the lib cabinet, wanted howard out of the way - but being so close to the election, they were not prepared to force howard out. one needs to laugh at the comments that howard previously made - like he will remain so long as the party wants him etc etc - now we are expected to believe it is a TEAM.

it could well be smuggler, that the polls are simply saying that it is time for howard to go - he is nothing more than a meglomaniac.

it could well be, that most people, like watso have simply stopped listening. liken it to a divorce - the actual splitting is the final step - all the niggling issues have already occurred - and it is time to move on. all the conditions for a divorce, between the electorate, and the libs are there - and no amount of sweet talking (warne style) will, in the end, make any difference
