@cartex, this really looks like we are just playing with words. There is no contradiction here. Quite clearly, @redgum is stating what has been reported on more than one occasion, namely, that the purification process at Balama yields a graphite product where the contaminant levels of these two elements are so low as to be not detectable.
Common sense tells us that @redgum is not saying that those elements are "not detectable" in anything, using standard analytical methods.
If vanadium was present in the graphite product, yes, it would be detectable. But it's not.
