This time of the year the only weather to worry about is hail which is disastrous for all farmers. Heavy rain should not be an issue for DF growers and even a welcome irrigation saving (although some followup spraying/monitoring may be required) - unless they have bad practices or fruit still on the vine from last year. The last part of this prior sentence relates particularly to MRG as they have been consistently poor in this area. Rain is not a real concern until the vine is “cut” and wetted which is not until late Feb onwards - although the closer to ripening the less rain you want. Although a little simplistic, I hope that helps...I, like many, am sick of the excuses, lack of transparency, greediness and ineptness of this compamy. I have no doubt there are more disappointments to come with stock losses and writedowns. My initial warnings have come to fruition which is potentially disastrous for what was an exciting growing industry.
