new fed welfare policies bite hard, page-3

I visited Centrelink yesterday.... Centrelink staff are great people, I feel this should be acknowledged and they deserve compliment... replying to some illegible letter concerning my son. He is 22 years old and profoundly intellectually disabled and our pride and joy. Over those 22 years policy and bureaucracy has changed every six months at least, taxpayer paying for this. Generally lives now controlled by a multi-million dollar piece of computer software, spitting out letters like some spewing monster, but hey.... my son and I grovel at the feet of masterful and oh so generous almighty taxpayer and their need to be adored.... so don't waste time criticizing, too busy chasing him around most of the time.

Centrelink staff had no idea for reason of this illegible document of blurred message and contacted call centre on my behalf. For security and privacy reasons... mine and my son's life history clearly displayed on her screen, by hey again, I grovel at the feet etc... I am, as his legal guardian, required to speak to voice at call centre. "Hello?" "Ummm the reason for letter, ummm we need to know for our records if ummm there had been any improvement in your son's condition?" "Ummm. No. He is profoundly intellectually disabled." "Umm thank you, have a nice day." Cost to generous and almighty taxpayer for this stupidity... can only guess.

At present no cure for epilepsy only inexact treatment, but Govt expecting a miracle just round the corner. No cure for my son's rare form of progeria, but govt expecting cure anytime soon.... is this insider trading?

What the cost to taxpayer, or what the savings, if certain clients were shifted to a file marked 'sadly no hope of cure here, taxpayer should just accept that these desperately dependant people should be left in peace?'

Our profoundly disabled are our society’s bellwethers... sadness they over react, happiness they over react, anger they over react, alarm they over react. Their well being is the gauge of our own well being. Cutting funding to them, treating them as a nuisance indicates we are profoundly sick. Consider Carers Alliance… No 1 for senate please.
