Alright just FYI, a little extract from Tourism Research Australia.
Note these figures only apply to the tourism side of the business (which is not the bulk of the business).
Financial Year 16/17
Chinese Visitors to Australia: 1,160,500
Chinese Visitors Total Spend in Australia: $7,635,655,000
Chinese Visitors Spend in Australia on shopping to take back home: $860,763,000
Also note the final figure might be drastically understated as a lot of the time they send stuff home (which might I add, AuMake will do for them)
Now I am not overly optimistic and I am aware that a majority of this spend is on luxury goods that are more expensive in China, but, lets say thats a pretty significant spend in one year. I'm sure nowadays that infant formula and vitamins make up a bulk of that spend. So let me ask you this, would you rather go to a foreign country and buy from a store where no one speaks english so you have no idea what you are going to get or go to store that is trusted (ASX-listed) with assistants to answer all your questions.
Not to mention that the diagou part of their business is where the money is made, but this revenue stream only helps.
Open to your interpretation of those figures as I am no expert but IMO those figures are only going to grow as more and more Chinese tourists visit our shores, which means revenue growth (as the business becomes more established) and more profit (strategic alliances and acquisitions).
