It was always going to be a low number, given they lost around 2 weeks of production due to strike action. No brainer.

It's presently sitting at the same level it was last Thursday and 10c above the same time a week ago. That's OK, in my book.

Closing price in Toronto last night was the equivalent of between $A4.48 - $A4.51, depending on which relative exchange rates you use.

However, that close was obviously before the quarterly was out. So, it will be interesting to see whether or not any potential arbitrageurs come out of the woodwork later on in the session.

Also, US$ gold has stopped its vertical momentum (for now), so the scramble to get on board at any price has temporarily stopped.
