New customer & sales development activity:
In H1 2018 AJX has acquired 4 new bedding customers and 1 new home textiles customer.
Selected as the supplier on a new line of mattresses which are expected to be launched in 2018 with an existing customer (Figure 1).
Development trials underway with an existing uniform finisher to the US Department of Defence to treat standard issue non FR combat uniforms with Alexium FR.
- The goal of this development effort is to add FR protection to all uniforms, not just those specifically designated for front-line combat as is the case with AJX’s separate current FRACU program which is making steady progress to procurement.
- With successful results, AJX expects the DoD procurement process for fire retardant treated uniforms to commence with hazard assessment testing, field trials and user specification details in H2 2018.
AJX is exploring, with a leading global bedding manufacturer, the potential to expand Alexicool treated mattresses into higher volume market segments.
- Quality control, capacity audits and further development activities have been initiated by the customer. If the range expansion is ultimately successful it would lead to a material increase in chemical volume sales.
Successfully completed product validation and production scale up trials with manufacturer of high volume disposable healthcare non-wovens in early December with a full-scale production trial anticipated in Q3 FY 2018.
AJX is currently engaged in strategic efforts, including various licensing and exclusivity discussions aimed at maximizing Alexiflam NF technology penetration into key FR cotton markets as REACH (EU) and TSCA (USA) registration efforts progress.
