Sorry for the late post to your message but there is one thing that will influence the price of stocks more than the Dow. That is the effect of the Aussie Dollar on companies that derive a vast amount of their profits from overseas.
I believe that the NAB gets around 70% of its profits from outside Australia. It should be similar to the BHP situation where even though it made larger profits, it had a significant write down due to foreign currency exchange.
This is what is probably explaining the drop in various bank stocks and also other stocks that have large earnings from overseas. That would also explain why CBA has only dropped slightly as of recently.
