when I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago concerning the gas/power generation, I also asked about the timing of the feasibility study. Hi sreply was something like, "well you see, Cameron has said the best approach would be teaming up with Bowleven....." It kind of seemed by the way he was talking that there would be no conventional study forth coming but a JV or something. So maybe an ann concerning this? He also mentioned another company but I didnt jot it down at the time - I'm pretty sure it stated with a T or J?? Cant really remember and I'm away at the moment so dont have the notes I took, but there was definitely another company involved besides Bowleven.
I think one of the reasons he does so well is that he is so genuinely concerned about others and what they are up to. He asked about where I lived what I did for a living and wanted to know what that type of industry was like etc etc. Just a very nice guy. It was like having a normal conversation. We spent about five minutes talking about the power situation in Cameroon and the potential of developing other gas fields in the country as asource of power (I think Quest just built a huge natural power plant in SW Iran - so they have the know-how & connections).
It's no wonder people like to do business with him as he seems very confident and has an air of an English explorer (pith helmut style) about him - as a trekkie he reminded me a bit of Piccard. To boldy go.....
He also seems very thrifty saying stuff like, "...you know, we like to get something for nothing and both parties can win and make money.."
He also said, "I hope you are coming along with us for the ride the whole way"
Feel very good about having him run a company that I have most of my money in.
And thanks to T4P and all who have posted regarding the company, its been a great learning experience so far. You guys did'nt have to do this but as a result have probably helped a lot of people along financially. I just wish I had more to offer - maybe one day.
I thought so hard about selling a portion of my shares today and would of been basically free carried but didn't. HC, while very entertaining, is also definitely an incredible way to accelerate ones learning.
