Until 2014, everyone was classified as male or female on their birth certificate, irrespective of their intersex status.

So until the law changed this week, an intersex person classified as female could only marry a male and vice versa. Now they can marry someone of the same sex as well.

It must be tough having male and female sex organs. Even harder when conservatives want to stop you getting married.
