Most likely margin lending, or retirees with spare cash lying around. Or people with smsf. Or just plain rich. Who knows.
Another motive of downramper is that they influence you to sell your stocks at a loss or cheap price in the fear of losing more due to decreasing sp. But these downrampers know best that the sp will go up, not down. They want everyone else to lose while they themselves reap the profit.
