the skipping to another continent is not a bad move. it is absolutely neccessary to tap into the curent raging oil price and provide the company with dilution-protecting cashflow.
perhaps the only thing was they had a lot of eggs in one basket with heron and have paid the price. a better risk-hedging strategy would be to move to teeny producer status earlier than what they did, like pre-heron days.
the minerals I cant comment on. if the prospecting for such minerals is super cheap, and they already have the land, it would make sense to get something else moving on that front. there is no problem with advancing many prospects as long as it doesnt cost much money, is there?
