Is it possible that when GSW announced these agreements they really were just pilots / trials? Their announcements are so vague this may be the case? So no need for a business case, or capex approval or anything. The commercial model of GSW is skewed to the benefit of customers signing on with minimum due diligence needed.
For example, it may (likely?) be the case that the agreement with YUM or Amazon said - "we, GSW will spend our time and money trying to integrate with your logistics systems. If it works, and if you use us, we'll charge you $0.18 per delivery".
If I'm YUM or Amazon, I'll sign on right away. I bear zero risk whatsoever. I'm not committing to volumes or to even use them. What do I have to lose?
