Yes we were ripped off in phone charges in the same period and competition was needed

But Telstra were also investing and developing technology

but the libs have totaly stuffed bringing in competition. There is still one major holder of infrastructure which is restricted in how they can price others to use it. This restriction has lead TLS to not wanting to invest in the infrastructure, invest billions of dollars in something you can not get a propoer return on. and none of the competitors have been prepared to make the investment.

And now we are paying high prices for sub-standard service

If the Libs had any vision they would have had government ownership of the ifnrastructure and sold off the retail sections of TLS. That way an even playing field would have been set for all players and priced at a level to fund development and improvement of the system.

or at the very least developed proper workable legislation around the price od the service.

as for the rest of your post, clrearly you are happy from Australia to continue down the track of dig it up, flog it off cash it in mentality as to develop any real long term value added wealth building industries is just to hard.

Spoken like a true Howard supporter
