    Heya @Trees

Yeah I was there. I also recorded that piece, but the one I liked was from a better angle.

Probably my least favourite Beatle - for a number of reasons, but I went along as part of a family thing, neice, besty etc.

Got a new respect for him after seeing him perform live though.

He is in his 70s. Voice was far from perfect, but a quantum leap compared to Elton John and others of that generation. 3 hours, non stop. Still had a certain boyishness about him. His voice was a bit unsteady in the upper registers, not for the screamed stuff, but for the delicate stuff, but the band had the vocal skills to cover.

Band was as tight as and just superlative musicians. A 5 piece that played with passion and not just professionalism. Something I don't seem to notice that much with the new kids.

This is a guy who not only likes performing, he likes entertaining. He seemed to have the right mix of old and new -- has a huge catalogue to choose from. And a huge collection of stories. The mix of talking to the audience and playing all seemed to be so well balanced.

He did play Mull of Kintyre which was a low point, but whaddya do?

    MFx
