just came back from the US and visited a Macy's store the salesperson actually was running around the different jean sections for my wife to try on different brands,thats service. In Myer's, if you find someone to help they may be tied to say the Lewin shirt section and cannot help you find a shirt from a different brand say MJ Bale, thats not service. I'm older than most here and still believe outstanding service will help save the Department store model. i also noticed a new format of mini department stores that Saks are rolling out which could work here.
Do Myer still own their flagship stores? If so this could soon be a real estate play at these levels.
