Your thinking is accurate. If he did not have the confidence that VRC was well placed he would not have exercised his options. No one throws away money .
I have had options in the past in other stocks which I did not exercise, because I simply did not have the confidence to invest more money.
There are some of course who will always look for the negative because of reasons only known to them. We know who they are.
One can only imagine what he would have said had he not exercised those options.

My Xmas wish, is that this individual sells his stock and moves on to greener pastures and leaves us alone.
