    You make a very good point: universal salvation. My understanding is that you make this assumption from biblical evidence? But then you discount biblical evidence in support of more orthodox Christian beliefs.

    That Christ came to save all of mankind is indisputable. John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotton son that whomsoever should believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Whomsoever means everyone to me.

    Have you heard of Christian Universalism? This divides those saved by grace through faith in Christ (even the faith to believe is a gift from God) so there is no "work" involved. And then those who die without believing in Christ are subject to a period of "correction" in the next life. Most Christian denominations consider this belief a heresy. Interestingly this theory has similarities to the Catholic belief of purgatory.
    The other two orthodox beliefs are annihilation, ceasing of existence (appolumi for perish in John 3:16) and aionis kolasis (everlasting punishment.) Matthew 25:46
