Hey NL...there are a few thermal purification companies in China they may be partnering with, but difficult to know who as most partnerships are confidential in nature with this level of processing.

Battery manufactures can only purchase battery grade graphite from commercial processors or manufacturers who are ISO certified in more than one application as there are significant regulations for traceability for any consumer issues or recalls to track and locate where the issue originated at the raw material source or process.

Several of the graphite startups have had lab samples tested (anode, expandable, purified, micronized) that have been post processed in a controlled environment either by the supplier company, third party, or a customer looking to begin initial validations until commercial production can also be validated and qualified.

I can take years to introduce an new battery chemistry to the industry and not just the chemistry, but also safety, stability, format, size, application, cycling and storage capabilities, and compatibility have to be tested and verified before market introducing and then several months of field testing before commercial launch.

I have been working the Li-O2 and Li-S batteries for 15 years and they still have not been commericalised. NMC or (LiNiMnCoO

Li-Ion batteries were only commericalised in 2008-2009 Nissan Motors and LG Chem are a couple of end users that use NMC Li-Ion Batteries ...This is why is takes a significant amount of time to qualify a new graphite supplier or any new raw material supplier to electrochemistry applications.
